Arrive and feel welcomed
It is easy to travel to Southern Styria by car or train – for international guests traveling to Styria by plane, we recommend Graz Airport. Passing the corn and pumpkin fields typical of southern Styria, you reach Ehrenhausen, the gateway to the world-famous South Styrian Wine Route.
The LOISIUM Wine & Spa Hotel Südsteiermark is located on the edge of the village on a hill, the Schlossberg. Over 100 free parking spaces, some of which are covered, as well as several e-charging stations are available there.
We start with a light lunch with regional products in the Weinkuchl restaurant with a wonderful panoramic terrace overlooking Ehrenhausen, the castle of the same name, the hills and the Koralpe. The first glass of Pinot Blanc is certainly perfect here, but the natural fruit juices from the neighboring village of Gamlitz also taste excellent.
Meetings with a view
After a refreshing break, we move on to the very bright and air-conditioned conference rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, which are equipped with the latest presentation and sound technology, the flexible walls allow for many possible combinations and the plenum is quickly converted into two group rooms during the coffee break. Speaking of coffee breaks, the delicious snacks are best enjoyed on the adjoining covered terrace with a view of the South Styrian Wine Route. A flip chart is also quickly available here for group work in the fresh air. After meeting part two, you can move into the spacious rooms and then enjoy even more of the regional products.
Wine Edutainment in the Vinotheque & Restaurant
True to our motto “Taste the Region”, the wines are now available for tasting. During a wine tasting in our in-house vinotheque, our wine expert not only introduces the wine-growing region of Southern Styria, explains the characteristics of the respective wines and grape varieties in an entertaining way, but also shares one or two anecdotes about the winegrowers. This tasting is particularly authentic as you stand by the old press tree on the vinotheque terrace and can talk shop about the region’s now world champion Sauvignon Blancs or simply enjoy them.
At dinner in the Weinkuchl restaurant, soup is served from the wine bottle, the main courses are prepared at the “FrontCookingStation” and dessert is served family style on the tables. A variety of dishes and combinations are offered. A delicious Morillon is poured from a 3-liter bottle. A small nightcap in the form of a local gin and tonic is served at the hotel bar before you snuggle up in bed and look forward to the next day.
Discover and experience the region
The race begins to see who will be the first in the Spa. From 7.00 a.m., the first guests swim their lengths in the year-round heated 25-metre outdoor pool before enjoying an extensive, healthy breakfast. Day 2 has started perfectly. Another half day in the conference room is filled with ideas on how to become even more successful as a company. Afterwards, more team activities are on the agenda, the wine route beckons.
The tractor with covered wagon trailer, the converted Pinzgauer, the modern Trek E-Bikes or the hiking boots are already waiting to explore the region. Local guides accompany the groups. Viewpoints, wineries, places to stop for refreshments, cultural facilities, picnics in the pavilion above the sea of vines, mini-golf or simply walking together are the goal. “Taste the Region” at its best! Other team-building activities are also offered by various partners on the extensive hotel grounds.
The final evening takes place in a typical wine tavern, in one of the numerous restaurants of the top gastronomy or with a winemaker in person exclusively in the LOISIUM Vinotheque.
A very special highlight awaits on the day of departure – it’s worth getting up early. At 05:30, the hot air balloons take off in front of the hotel and show off the flair of southern Styria from above. If that’s too early for you, you can watch the production of the black gold in a pumpkin seed oil mill after breakfast. All the senses are stimulated there.
Before heading home, you can buy your favorite wines at farm-gate prices and other local products in the LOISIUM Vinotheque. And then you can look forward to getting to know the other LOISIUM hotels.
